A LEADER CHOSEN BY GODGoodluck Ebele Azikwe Johnathan (GCFR, BNER, GCON) born 20th November, 1957. hails from Bayelsa State, an Ijaw man. he is God fearing, Humble and a Devoted Christian.
GEJ as he is fondly called has been president of Nigeria since 2010. Prior to his election as president, he served as Governor of Bayelsa State from 2005 to 2007 and as Vice-President of Nigeria from 2007 to 2010. GEJ is a memeber is of the ruling party People's Democratic Party (PDP).
Jonathan is married to Patience, and they have two children
in accordance with the order of succession in the Nigerian constitution following president Umaru Yar'Adua's death on 5th May 2010, Vice-president Goodluck Jonathan was sworn in as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on 6th May,2010 becoming the 14th Head of State. He cited anti-corruption, power and electoral reforms as focuses of his administration. He stated that he came to office under ''very sad and unusual circumstances''.
Though he was right, but little did he understand that he wasn't just picked to succeed Yar'Adua because constitutionally he was supposed to as the vice-president, but because GOD wanted him to be there, GOD saw what Nigeria and Nigerians were facing and what we will face ahead and GOD saw that Jonathan was the Man he could entrust with the task of leading his people in the right direction.
2011 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS
On 15th September, 2010, Jonathan announced on Facebook that he has decided to contest for the president of Nigeria in 2011.
In the contest for the PDP nominations Goodluck Jonathan was up against very strong oppositions from the former vice-president Atiku Abubakar and Mrs. Sarah Jubril on 13 January 2011. Looking at the calibre of the oppositions he faced nobody believed he was going to come out on top. That was another way GOD showed us all that His hand was on him. He was declared winner.
For the general election in 2011, Jonathan won the general election against General Muhammadu Buhari and Nuhu Ribadu on 18 April, Jonathan was declared the winner of the election.
THE GEJ ADMINISTRATION LANDMARKS
1. POWER SECTOR REFORM
On 2 August 2010 Jonathan launched his 'Roadmap for powersector reform'. Its primary goal was to achieve stable electricity in Nigeria.
The Nigerian Power sector has been historically plagued by blackouts. Jonathan has been overseeing the privatisation of the country's power sector, the end goal being an efficient and reliable power supply for the Nigerian Population
2. YOUTH ENTERPRISE WITH INNOVATION IN NIGERIA (YOUWIN)
On 11 October 2011, President Jonathan launched YOUWIN initiative which he stated was an innovative business plan competition that harnesses the creative energies of young people between the ages of 18 and 35. as at 2013 it has created 26,000 jobs
3. TRANSFORMATION AGENDA
In 2011, President Jonathan launched the transformation Agenda. The Transformation Agenda is based on a summary of how the Federal Government hopes to deliver projects, programmes, and key priority policies, from 2011 to 2015 coordinated by the National Planning Commission (NPC)

It is said that the Youths are the leaders of tomorrow. This has been one of the main focus of Mr. President, he has carried the youths along in his government and has also laid out more beneficial plans for the youths, Plans that will enable an Average Nigerian Youth attain his/her full potential.
With the current insurgency group and other individual going round to make sure his government is frustrated, Mr. President has not allowed that to distract him in whatsoever way.
